I'm Siobhan - I design and make stained glass panels and windows.
I learned about stained glass at an adult education course at Redbridge Institute of Adult Education. Whilst attending the college, I had a piece selected for an exhibition titled Inspired By, held at London's Morley Gallery. It was an image inspired by Davie Bowie's Aladdin Sane.
I initially joined the course, so that I could re-glaze a 1930's style tulip front door. Subsequently, I started to make small items for friends and family.
Currently, I mainly make glass to order - for domestic settings and also for gifts/decorative items. I have an online store where I sell limited edition pieces.
In 2020, just as lockdown was starting, I finished my entry for the annual Lord Mayor Reflects Stained Glass design competition. I was thrilled when my designcommemorating Sir Charles Bowman's year in office won. I was asked to create the design and present the Roundel at a Gala Dinner at London's Guildhall.LM Reflects runs the competition every year.
